The Congolese Community of Hamilton (CCH) and the Congolese Community of Toronto (COCOT) invite you to take part in the virtual (ZOOM) celebration of the 61st anniversary of the independence of our homeland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, starting at 6:00 p.m. The virtual celebration is a chance to reconnect during this lockdown and an opportunity to celebrate and affirm our patriotic values.
To help our members unwind after COVID-19 and its effects, the two boards are pleased to present a renowned comedian from the DRC known as PAKALOWI. The comedian is the special guest of this patriotic evening and promises to make us forget the effects of COVID-19 with an explosive comedy show broadcast live from Kinshasa.
Laughter is proven to be therapeutic, and we need it during this most difficult period in human history.
Join us on ZOOM this Wednesday, June 30, from 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the independence of our great country. Please have the following ready for our big celebration:
1/ Wear, or bring in front of your screen or phone, a symbol in the colours of our homeland (red, yellow or blue).
2/ A full glass (of water, wine, champagne or beer) that we will raise together during our celebration to mark our nation’s 61 years.
The organizers will be online 30 minutes before the event to help compatriots who have trouble accessing the Zoom meeting platform. A link will be shared with you a few days before the event.
