Every day, the Congolese Community of Hamilton (CCH) and Area welcomes new compatriots arriving mainly from DR Congo, Africa and other parts of the world. One of the CCH’s goals is to make it easier for its newcomer members to integrate into Canadian society. Through a simple, friendly process, the CCH provides its members who have recently arrived in Hamilton with the information and services they need. To ensure its new members settle in well, the CCH works closely with its local partners.
To make sure everything goes smoothly and to answer their questions, the CCH holds regular meetings with newcomers. The CCH develops personalized settlement plans for newcomers to make the process effective. The goal is for them to learn about job opportunities, the general environment and future connections.
