The Congolese Community of Hamilton (CCH) and Area is one of the most vibrant francophone communities, with a large youth population. Most young people do not actively take part in community cohesion and are left out because their talents are not showcased.
Young people are crucial to the future, so they need to be ready to cultivate their minds to create a better future. Anything done for young people without them is done against them. The goal of this initiative is to help young people play an active rather than a passive role in the unity and cohesion of our community, both day to day and at community events.
The Youth Talent Show project aims first and foremost to bring together francophone young people under 19 to develop their talents and gain the confidence to share them and use them for the benefit of the francophone community in particular and Canadian society in general.
The youth training and awareness workshops aim to start a process of including young people in the community by showcasing their skills and talents. Bringing young people’s talents to the community is an important contribution to community cohesion. The workshops help young people develop the resilience and confidence needed to embrace diversity in their respective communities and in Canadian society as a whole, and finally help them develop their natural talents so they can achieve their dreams.
